of Chogyam Trungpa
The essence of cowardice is to not recognize the reality of fear. Fear can take many forms. But we know they can not live forever. We are petrified of death. At a different level than we are afraid of not knowing how to juggle with the demands of the world. This fear is expressed through a sense of inadequacy. We feel we are being overwhelmed by our lives, and even more from the rest of the world. So we experience a sudden fear, a kind of panic that comes when our lives are suddenly crossed by new situations. When we hear that they can no longer control us rigid. Sometimes the fear is manifested in the form of anxiety: scribbled on notebook, play with your fingers or we worry about the chair. We feel that we need to move constantly, like a car engine running. the pistons go up and down, up and down. Until they move, we feel safe. Otherwise we fear to die instantly.
