Komos First concert - March 15, from New
Nonché Monteverdi, to back the ineffable Lamento della Ninfa with the soprano Tiziana Tramonti and elegant piano improvisations Mario Sollazzo. Then a song by Mendelssohn (who turn 200 years old this year), the chorus of pilgrims from Tannhäuser by Wagner (another homage to Bologna, which until recently boasted the title of Wagner's city of Italy) . Then two popular French songs by Poulenc and the delicate sensibilities of Love Alone Ned Rorem (1988) on a beautiful poem by Paul Monette dedicated to her fiance Roger Horwitz, who died of AIDS. And some other surprises. Guest of honor baritone Alfonso Antoniozzi, which had a free hand in choosing what who wants to run.
For those who want to read, this is the magazine Cassero Magazine, January / February 2009. Among the interviews, Franca Valeri and Paul V. Montanari (p. 28)! (Takes a little 'fast to download, PDF):
